We want everyone on our programmes to know where to find support if they need it. This directory lists organisations that can help with a range of issues. All services listed are free and confidential unless stated otherwise. We are not affiliated with any organisation on this list. If you’re unsure where to turn, speak to any member of the Hype & Genius team and we’ll help you find the right support.
Raise a concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about yourself or someone else on our programmes, contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Korinna Williams, at info@hypeandgenius.com marked FAO the DSL. Our full Safeguarding Policy is linked in the footer of every page.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and we challenge discrimination wherever it appears in our work. If you experience or witness discrimination on any of our programmes, report it to any member of the team or email info@hypeandgenius.com. Every report is taken seriously and handled confidentially.
If you work with us, volunteer with us, or take part in our programmes and you believe something is being done wrongly or unsafely within Hype & Genius, we want to know. Concerns can be raised with either co-director in person or by email to info@hypeandgenius.com, and will be handled seriously, confidentially and without any negative consequences for raising them. This includes concerns about the conduct of any member of staff, freelancer or volunteer.

Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
Hype & Genius exists to widen access to creativity. Our programmes are free, open and designed for people who are under-represented in the creative industries, and over 90% of our community come from global majority backgrounds. We recruit, deliver and partner in line with the Equality Act 2010, and we expect the same standard from everyone we work with. Barriers in the sector fall hardest on Black, female, disabled and working class creatives, and removing them is the reason this organisation exists.
Who runs Hype & Genius
Hype & Genius is led by its two co-founders and directors.
Co-Director and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Co-Director, with board-level responsibility for safeguarding and deputy DSL.

How we recruit
All roles at Hype & Genius, whether staff, freelance or volunteer, are advertised openly. We publish opportunities on our website, our Instagram and LinkedIn, and through sector job boards and partner networks, so that they reach people who are under-represented in the creative industries. Applications are assessed against the published role description, shortlisting and interviews follow a consistent set of questions for every candidate, and appointments involving work with our programme community are subject to references and DBS checks as part of our safer recruitment procedures.
Access & venues
We do not deliver from a permanent premises of our own. Our programmes run from partner venues and studios across London, and before any programme starts we work with the venue to confirm the space is safe and accessible, covering step-free access, facilities, evacuation arrangements and any adjustments our community need. If you have an access requirement, tell us when you register or email info@hypeandgenius.com before your first session and we will make the arrangements with you and the venue directly.
