Structural advice for the creative industries.

From audits and reviews to strategy and training, we help organisations improve how they work with creatives and culture.

We help organisations build creative practice that works on both sides, for the business and for the people in it. We can say that with confidence because we sit on both sides ourselves, advising the industry while working directly with creatives every day.

How we help

What we do

01
Structural audits and reviews

A clear-eyed look at how your organisation works with creatives, across pay, conditions, hiring, progression and practice. We assess where you stand, benchmark it against the best in the sector, and give you a practical route to stronger, fairer ways of working.

02
Strategy and culture

Advice on how your organisation engages creativity and culture, from creative workforce strategy to how you build, keep and develop creative talent. We help you shape an approach that is credible, inclusive by design, and built for the long term.

03
Training and capability

Sessions and programmes that build your team's understanding of the creative industries and the people in them, led by practitioners who are active in the sector now. Practical, current, and shaped around your organisation.

Our approach

How we work

We take time to understand how your organisation operates, test what we find against the best practice we see across the sector, and give you recommendations built to be implemented. The thinking behind our work is our own methodology, developed through direct delivery with creatives.

FAQ

Consultancy questions

What does Hype & Genius consultancy actually deliver?

Three things. Structural audits and reviews, which assess how an organisation works with creatives across pay, conditions, hiring, progression and practice, benchmark it against the sector, and set out a practical route forward. Strategy and culture work, covering creative workforce strategy and how an organisation builds, keeps and develops creative talent. And training and capability sessions, led by practitioners active in the sector now.

Who is the consultancy for?

Brands, institutions, funders, local authorities, venues and cultural organisations that engage creative talent and want to do it better. If your organisation commissions, employs, funds or programmes creative work, the consultancy applies.

What makes Hype & Genius different from a standard management consultancy?

We sit on both sides of the sector. We advise the industry while working directly with creatives every day through our programmes and camps, so recommendations are tested against real delivery rather than drawn from desk research alone. The thinking behind the work is our own methodology, developed through direct delivery with over 2,500 creatives.
